Last Tuesday i decided to start filming my OTS. I started with filming down ST Benedicts street because i thought it would be the quickest thing to film. It turned out it was very quick to film! I brought my storyboard with me to give me a guide in what to film, with me also filming extra shots just-in-case. It was fun, as i was in the perfect setting. I had the old fashioned street lamps, which were located down alley ways which where also stone-cold steps! I was in my element, as the location was even better than i planned. I have made a table to what i was hoping my location was going to be like, and also what my location turned out looking like:
Hopefully the luck that i had with my location is the start of more good things, I'm looking forward to filming my poker game, which has taken a lot of planning, and will definitely take up more time compared to filming in the streets.
P.S. I am hoping to upload some still shot of the footage i took very soon, i have some very classic film noir shots which look very atmospheric. When i am filming my poker game scene, i will be taking test shots to find out if the light will transfer onto digital screen.
Very well done keeping to your strong conventions with the film noir. Showing exactly what you want is very good to show that you have very good organisation and shows exactly what you want.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it looks like you were very particular espeshially with where you wanted to dfilm it but it seems like it worked well enough for you to film. Well done.
I really like the comparison table you have done, it makes it clear what you wanted the scene to look like, but what you done to improvise. I think it would be a good idea to do another one of these for the poker scene, as I believe it is a tricky scene and will need a bit of explaination as to how you improvised that.
